A word from the author
The sooner we stop associating people with a color, and then using a color to describe a bad thing, the sooner we can start getting over the systemic racism that people feel is baked into our lives.
If we just called eachother ‘people’ and not [color] person, maybe a person wouldn’t feel that a word like “blackhat” was some how connected to them in a negative way. You cannot expect someone who already feels offended to take on the burden of proof and go look up the definition and
background to these terms– especially when it feels like everywhere they turn, there has been stuff like this present.
Now get your sh*t together, people.
